And Cinderella lived happily ever after…
Nov 2nd, 2009 by Carolina

All my life i’ve seen marriages break as easily as a twig, but yet to this day i beleive in the fairytale ending. My favorite disney movie ever since i was a little kid was Cinderella  because although Cinderella experienced a lot of hardship she got through it and got her happily ever after. Why is this considered such an ideal, yet unatainable future? Well i’m against it being a fantasy it can be real. I know what your saying, “oh wow has this person never felt pain or been in a real relationship or even she’s just a kid she doesn’t understand” well damn it i think it’s the adults that do not understand. When you lose hope in the dream of living your life happily ever after it then loses hope on you and it won’t allow you to attain it. I beleive i will get married and  have a happily ever after with the love of my life who i have spent the last three years with. And i know as long as me and him let our love guide us i’m sure we will be the happiest people on earth. Another thing people don’t get i think when choosing a partner is if you would love them through thick and thin, through sickness and poorness, till death due it parts you. Maybe people don’t listen to their wedding vows and take them for granted, but to me thats almost like ignoring the sanction of Marriage itself and ignoring it’s values. If people gave more value to marriage i’m sure people would be more selective and more sure of who they want to marry. Who says you have to settle for what you have. I think that the way to have the fairy tale ending of being married and living happily ever after is to make sure what you have is what you want. If your settling for someone then that means that’s not what you want is it? it is just taking what you can get which is a whole other story. Yes it’s hard and sometimes you can’t find that someone untill a verry old age or maybe you have at a young age (as in my case) but you just have to have faith someone is out there for you. Someone that will make you smile, that will hold your hand through thick and thin, through poorness and sickness, through everything that life can throw at you. It will happen and when it does thats when you know you can be married and live happily ever after. Also you have to understand that it is not fair to be with someone you love if they don’t love you back. Even though it hurts not being able to be with a person like that it’s for your own good. Have faith that that person isn’t the person your looking for it is not your true love because your true will love you back not matter what. Another thing to keep in mind is that beuty is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone has the same standard of beuty so make sure you stay at your own beutiful way so that the person that is for you can see that beuty that only him or her can appreciate. What inspired me to write this you ask? Well the hopeful (not hopeless) romantic in my heart decided to come out because i’ve realized i have found my true love and one day he will marry me and i will have that happily ever after i sought after since i was 4 and pictured what my wedding dress would look like. For now we are too young to be married but when we acheive our goals we will start the rest of our lives together in love with much happiness, ups and downs, and everything that life throws at us.:)

So I am going to UC DAVIS soon very soon and i can’t help but be anxious, scared, happy, nervous, and excited all at once. Its stomache clentching to know i will have to live on my own for the rest of my life. It’s not enough that it was nerve wrecking that a few of the choices i made in high school would change my life, but from now on my choices are my problem and mine alone. There is no turning back the clock or asking my mom and dad for a quick fix, just plain old harsh life to show me that consequences of my success and failures. Having the fear of failing as my biggest fear is motivating yet increasingly frightning because if i fail like i said it’s a choice i now have to live with no make ups or bandaids just the cold truth. Oh well, i’ll take it the positie way and use it as a motivater as i always have. Someday i’ll be helping out many many people (yes in my huge apartment in NY with a new Gucci pantsuit lol) and be happy i made the choice to never fail and be the best i can be at what i do :)

All-nighters

Today is the third all nighter in a two week period for me. I am so exausted! Why is it that all us A P Kids tell ourselfes “we still have time to study” over amd over again and then all of a sudden the test creeps up on you the day before and then your stuck with an alll-nighter you told yourself you wouldn’t have to endure. I think i have statistically proven that all smart/ AP kid is a procrastinator. Take my best friend Diana, for example. She is number one in our class and has passed every AP test she has taken and she always to the last minute/ day to study. Also other people in my AP classes are the same as well. We kind of start contest to see who got the best grade by procrastinating the most. Diana usually wins. Why we wait untill the last minute is something that befuddles me. We take such advanced courses and are extremely competative, but it seems like we (AP kids) procrastinate and are lasier then the kids enrolled in regular classes. Also i don’t know about other schools, but my friends at my school that have regular classes receive about a pound more of homework then in all my ap classes combined. So now do you think you a failure in the school system or in the AP kids’ individual mind? hmm… You tell me…

A P Test rolling around

So i don’t know about all the other high school students preparing for the A P tests but i know I’m very nervous about them and anxious. Another part of me just wants to get them over with because, lets face it, you cannot relax your senior year until their over and done with. With teachers that seriously prepare you i totally give them kudos for doing so. Not only is it stressful that you have to study yourself for them , but you have to do double the work when the teacher does not do much to teach the material.

Diana and I study together and make acronyms for classes like AP Gov and AP Bio, but what about ap calc or ap literature we really can’t use acronyms. AP lit is my most feared grade though because how is it fair to only allow you a 40 minute period to make an essay to the best of your ability? I can write a decent essay, but i need time. I simply cannot coherently think in such a rapid manner.

I’m afraid i will have more sleepless nights after this spring break filled with tea and coffee and sugar snacks provided by Diana’s parents which will allow us to try and retain every last bit of information possible.

Oh Well, after the tests its PROM!!! and GRADUATION!!! and then SUMMER!!!! so i guess i can sacrifice fun until then :)

coraline1.jpg I have to say, this movie was great! The story line was very eccentric to say the least. It is not for the uncreative, you really have to get into the story to understand and figure out how Coraline will help her parents. The 3D effects were fun, but very limited, I would have liked more things popping out at me. Tim Burton really hit it with this movie, because although Corpes Bride was pretty good it did not deliver as much as Coraline in the story line realm. I would definitely recommend this movie  for everyone that likes Tim Burton’s movies and everyone that likes a creepy kids movie now and then.

I of course saw it the first day it came out. I have grown up and always loved the simpsons cartoon series, and i have seen every episode thats ever been showed, so you would know how excited I was to see this movie. This movie was the best ever!!! I seriously did not even expect it too be that funny and it was it was down right hilarious. Everyone should see this movie at least three times because it is so great. It’s such a great movie also because you think you know whats going to happen next but all of a sudden the thing you least expects happens. Lisa finds true love, Bart gets embarrassed, Marge and Homer almost get divorced and so on. Its just a really great funny movie!

I recently saw Transformers with my brother and i thought it was a very good movie that was pretty faithful to the cartoon. It was exciting and it really gets your attention. If you have not seen it yet i suggest you go see it right now, it is too good of a movie to pass up.  :)
